Hrm, rates have gone up since I ran my Geek Squad several years back. Usually Malware/Spyware was part of a "System Tuneup" which was $25. Some other things would pop up, but $199? really? Is that for In-Home or store work? That seems ridiculously overpriced.
Here is an idea: 1. Draw your texture at 25% of its desired resolution. 2. Scale up 400% using nearest neighbor 3. Paint over your texture at full size to add detail If you follow that workflow, your texture features will correspond to DXTN tiles automatically.
i will say hallo when i get back, temporarily living in Tokyo at the moment. yes abot 25 hours at 150 GHz per level. 50 computers working. we had about 150 machines in total in the renderfarm so we could do 3 bakes simultaneously.
Been a little while with doing some work stuff, here are some more completed parts. Just have the Front Trunnion and the inside of the Upper Receiver to do. Then I can do the belt feed system. On Day 20, hope to wrap it up in 25 days with 90% to 95% accuracy
Good turn out! about 25 people I think. Bunch of new faces too. Im going to aim to do another one before the end of summer. I may even do one in july and one is august, so people have options if they cant make 1.

WIP 25 Implemented everyone's critique as best I could. There's still a normal map seam on the front of the pants. That will be fixed probably at the end. Just focused on textural fixes this round. Added details like the arm colors on the body. Added noise to the textures for the head, albedo gloss, subdermal, etc.
@gnoop 4500 x 3000 10-bit display, gamut extends to DCI-P3 (25% larger than sRGB). Sounds like it's on par with an iMac or Apple Cinema Display, but I cannot find a full and proper display only review. The Surfaces have always had great displays.
Completely agree. Only part of Crysis I liked was having to flank every incampment :D Non-existent art direction, and the guns were ass-dull grey cylinders/rectangles. Never bothered to finish warhead, will pick up Crysis 2 when it hits the 2 for 25 pile.
Yea I hate that. I also hate it when Designers meet with the wrong people and they sign other people (me) up for things that I would have suggested we not do. Things that take a long time to do, are only on screen for .25 seconds and if removed wouldn't impact anything.
