Dynamesh is size dependent so no magic number here .rule of thumb keep it as low as it give you barely enough poly to model what you need I will work for the most part on something low like middle one and when I am happy with overall shape then crank one up for smaller details like the 3rd one If second is 128 , 3rd is 256… -

Blizzards are masters of extremely low polygon art. If you want to impress them you're going to have to reduce your polycounts significantly and let your textures do the work. On illegal file names - Its because the internal file system in OD and all tools are limited to files inside .PK3 files, or files in directories, but they must NOT contain spaces anywhere, must be formed of only letters from A to Z (upper or lower case), numbers, or underlines... and the full path is limited to 256… -

Looks like some good progress Fritz old chap. There really isn't any number you should be aiming for on the high poly, rather concern yourself with the visual quality. If it's the detail level that you desire, it's correct. Also keep in mind the target map size. A head for a 256, needs be a lot less detailed than a head… -

Might have been the best of the lot, an accerator pad, but I was converting them to .wal format(for the map editor, not the engine), with Wally, and accidently exported over top of the existing .tga, because I was stupid… -
