32 bit is what I commonly use for exporting heightmaps from World Machine to use in Unreal for a landscape or in Unity on terrain. It makes it look smoother and more accurate.
I like that you're making a texture and mesh for the cliffs instead of letting it stretch on landscape. Good call. This is looking pretty cool so far. Keep it up! :D
There was something about converting to landscapes and in one of the build notes (think it was September) there was some fixes done to it. Maybe thats the new tool to replace terrain (sounds better :P)
Update! Build a few more houses and decided to bring everything closer in to make it feel more like a busy street. Going to play with lighting and landscape materials next :)
Added some foliage from the bark scene and expanded on the landscape mateiral. Did some tweeks on the snow, added skysphere, changed mood more towards Death Stranding.
yeah just finished it with a rather low completion score of 28 percent. really enjoyed the game though, beautiful landscapes. how the f: did they do so much work for one game.
Update- the ship is sitting in the landscape in UE4. There are no objects to determine scale at the moment, so that will come with the next update. A landing platform is in the works along with many other things.
Quick update. I put in a custom LUT and changed some of the landscape, got the newest models in as well. Slowly getting there - hope to be done in the next week or so.
More designer texture practice, this tile combined with UE4 Landscape Painting. Texture based on a tutorial by Sharpstance on youtube. Though without tessellation, the rocks are ugly..mmmmm
