Ok! I´m still thinking about better fur look, but there are not too much things left to do: Repaint in Substance, trying to improve the fur, the pose and perhaps a few more handpaints on the body :)
Polycount should have a rule that all image macro and internet meme jokes must be handpainted by the poster in question. And no recycling anything, you have to repaint monorail cat everytime you want to post it.
There is a lot of diferent materials on him..and thats great. I decided to skip highpoly stage, and put my handpainting skills to test right away! block out mesh..which will be retopoed/reproportioned later.
Can i use realistic way on Character section? or it must be handpainted like in game model? We are looking for stylized characters and environments for this competition. That means no normal maps and hand painted diffuse textures.
Really happy on how the lamp looks now. For the emissive i just handpaint it and then blur it to get this result. Then in Unreal with my master material i just had to increase the emissive intensity and that's all.
I'd like to think early Ubisoft 3d influence for this instead of Blizzard (Rayman 2 and Tonic Trouble are the earliest games I can think of to have this low poly diffuse handpainted style)
wow sweet building very cool interpretation of the modelsheet i think the texture doesnt really fits the guild wars style it's a sweet handpainted texture, and guildwars is more realistic good luck !
I finally finished! This is the final image you can find more of the process on my artstation link :) Special thanks to the handpainter's guild for all the help and feedback! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/1nwV1G
planks are going for a handpainted or stylized style and the rest of the scene has a realistic style (the aquarium, the rug noise, the books) You should stick to a style from the begining to avoid a messy final picture.
Thank you David! :) Most of the details are made by either handpainting, alot of dam_standard brush, and some by using insert mesh brushes i made quickly, like the seams. Not a lot of it done by alpha.
