This is pretty interesting, one thing I think your textures could be improved on is some more color variations. The greens have no red or yellow hues, the red have no green bounce light or blue variations and the such. I am just wondering though why you made this in a 2.5D perspective? I don't think the green cloth really fits (colour wise). I think it you went with a triadic colour scheme, and slightly moved the purple a little more towards blue, but then threw in a very small amount of red, it would really make the red pop. Maybe have the very top of the sash red instead of green? -

With the spotlight method, wouldn't you get a different 'bake' every time you change the camera angle though? As in the example of the green spheres, you would have multiple green highlights one on the front, side, back because the matcap changes based on the camera every time you change it to paint a different angle,… -

Also if you're baking your normal map with xNormal, make sure the y is set to y- rather than y+ because max, I think maya, and UDK use an inverted green channel. So if you baked your maps already with y+ just pop open the normal in photoshop and invert the green channel. -

Hey man, here’s some things I’d point out; - The handle has a weird bumpiness to it. I can’t tell if its wood or iron. - I’m trying to figure out why the blade is green. I’ve never seen green iron before, so my mind turns to mold, which wouldn’t grow here. -

Max 2010. I did have seams on the holes, so I could expand the face selection to seams to split it off. I can't seem to remove the seams on the holes afterwards (shown in green). Edit seams + alt+click won't remove them. And if I planar map it, the green seams will still be there too. Any suggestions? -

good choice on the color change. the green on green wasn't working. To take this one step further i'd make some warning labels or some kind of technician stickers on the back of the unit. It'll give some scale to this mech. Although, if this mech is really large then technician warning stickers might be too small to even… -

Some witch doctor staves: I've been rolling with this idea for having his healing brew to be in his pot still cooking. In-game when WD activates his W(the heal), the space in the middle of his staff starts to glow green so I wanted that green smoke to be coming out of his couldron of goodies.
