With a game so damned entertaining, it's hard to look at graphics with as much as bias. Plus it's freeware and doesn't claim "Omg best looking game ever throw all your other shit away" So yeah. Nice work
Wouldn't mipmapping sort the dithering out? Unless you've got your GPU drivers set up for performance over quality and oversharpening of mipmaps. (most I've seen allow you to set a bias) I'd expect to see it in Photoshop but not a games engine.
one of the tools lets you draw shapes out, that you can use as the bias for mountians or valleys, just do that. or sculpt your land to the genral shapes you want in mudbox or zb than import it as a height map to WM and apply effects
Well I guess I also have a bias sympathy because when I finish uni this Summer I will practically be in the same boat as them unless I can relocate to a job before my final loan runs out :poly122:
im told that the LOD bias is set more aggressively in the demo version than in the final version ( havent been on UT for a few months, im a little out of touch). So, it will look a bit better in final version, but it won't be night and day. r.
Whilst I was a student, my other half lived in Bristol and I lived in Derby (for the record I did not do the Derby CGArt course, no bias here), and it wasn't a real problem. The distance between Leeds and Derby is pretty small.
the shadows for the smaller grass is looking really strange. it looks like the shadow bias is a bit of and the resolution might be a bit low or something, what ever it is, its taking away some of the amazing realism thats present in all theother screenshots.
Ryan, dude thanks for your recent help while i am trying to find work. i've been using CrazyBump for my portfolio work. we used it a ton on BiA: Hell's Highway. thanks for your help during these tough times -eli
Yeah the whole sniper thing is wierd with the stealth/cloak ability but I pretty much hate snipers in everygame so.... I'm most likely bias. Is the only way to get other costumes to pay money? Alot of people running around in funky clothing.
Is there an example of a good looking (modern) unity game. It just seems like everyone in 3D Art Showcase & Critique uses UE4. You would think it would be 50/50 in this forum since unity is really popular in general. In most gamejams there is a huge bias towards unity.
