new project, working on some models for a friend's awesome new engine. started with a black sillouhette dynamesh ball and have been sllowly just trying to refine from this concept art..
You can help Deci master along by applying a quadify mesh modiifer in Max before export. Edit: sorry, it was 3am when I wrote this. In my brain it said Dynamesh. :)
Splay the fingers out. It'll make rigging them easier. Sculptris is dynamesh in real time. I recommend at least looking at the documentation on it, or pressing the " \ " button wiht one of your brushes on.
@Haub Thanks man! Well, not too much Zmodeler here mostly for chamfers. Most of other stuff it's just good old Dynamesh + Insert mesh + Clip Curve + hPolish brushes.
Hello Polycount! NOTE: This is now completed. The sketchfab link can be found here: https://sketchfab.com/models/a5bdbf816dc54b7e89e2a691c3d65709 It's been a while since I roamed/stalked these boards, last time in search for critique on my head sculpts. Now I'm looking for some aid in my conquest to make two concepts of…
Holster highpoly is done and ready for sculpted details, just gotta make the straps now. Don't mind the ugly gun sitting in it, I just dynameshed my entire gun model to use as a base.
You're gonna want to read this to udnerstand how to integrate Boolean modeling into your high poly modelmaking https://polycount.com/discussion/168610/3ds-max-zbrush-proboolean-dynamesh-hardsurface-workflow-tutorial
The cat is so adorable!!!! I think If you could dynamesh and merge those tail/fur blobs into the mesh, it'll transition really well. Aside from that, you really captured the concept art!
for me it always depends on what im working on, sometimes i start in maya, with a simple block out, sometimes in zbrush if it's something i can start from dynamesh. But at work it's usually maya first.
Definitely looks like a case of fighting the topo. You're using slash 3 presumably at default so it's not a stroke issue, plus the surrounding carves are smooth leaving the topo the likely culprit. Is the model dynameshed?
