You are way too low on the triangle count for racing game on consoles or PC. As you have it modeled now, it is closer to a mobile spec car. Building dense car models for real time use is a skill and there is value in practicing it. You can't really do this work with a diffuse material- switch to a cubemap so you can see…
Surprised this hasnt popped up yet. Citizencon 2015 occurred yesterday and with it came quite a bit of new footage. I was extremely impressed with what they are doing with Squadron 42, it gave off the same environmental story telling vibe as Halflife 1-2. I really hope they can pull this off. As for the cast of…
Hi! By now you probably put your plan into action. When you're generally happy with the shading achieved by the modifier, you could apply it as a starting point. Personally, I define sharp edges while checking the mesh shading, placing UV seams at the same time (unwrapping in Blender). I had another look at the model, so…
Hello lovelies of Polycount! I thought it was about time I post something decent up here, so I thought I'd make a thread for my games project, Wanderer's Quest! It's a Cute Animal RPG with puzzles and quests etc that's set on a cliffy / mountainous area. The area I'm working on for the moment is the main small village area…
Hey guys I am working on a project atm and am looking for work I saw in the last week as a reference. Its this awesome Maya render of a black cat in a medical cone and I think there was a bit of tissue paper in the background. Its a really slick render with great lighting and I was sure I had it bookmarked but now for the…
Ah yeah AO is only affected by image based lighting (usually using a diffusely-convolved cube map and/or spherical harmonics). Can you add an IBL? Would really help to simulate nice bounce lighting. As it is, your shadows are all very very black.
There’s not much of a difference in both. In technical terms yes, but I highly recommend the 4080 or 4080 Super over the 4090 simply because of one big reason. The 4090 has a realizability issue with the power connector which can get overheated and melt. It’s also not worth extra money for more performance. For a computer…
Hello everyone. Since I'm not quite sure if I am allowed to post links and promote any business I would ask the community if you could take the time to review a webpage I built tailored for archviz artists, designers and manufacturers. You can pm me or I can edit the post and share the link in case the admin allows it.…
