Select all UV's and use weld option with 0.0 tolerance.... or 0.01 don't remember which one was OK. But it works for sure. I fixed those uv's many times. -

Drivers are up to date, i even wipe out all drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller "DDU" and install it once again. Same thing happening on gtx 660 and 970 -

I believe the new ASUS GL502 series have the 1060 and 1070s? I have the older version with the 970m but apparently it's no bigger and they're using the same chassis. Linky here -

Assuming it takes you 270 hours, that's about 6 weeks of work if you assume an 8 hour work day. Doesn't sound too bad, but I'm not a character artist. -

I think we should have a suggested list of monitors, keyboards, and mice. But the builds should be more like $700, $1300, $1700, $2300, +monitor and keyboards and extra HDD's. -
Re: skinning problem
This usually means the vertex is weighted to no other bones. If you check the Normalize checkbox, then when you weight that vertex 1.0 (100%) to another bone, the current weight will drop to 0.0. -
