Hi guys! I gotta model a G26 handgun for a school homework, and I'd definitly need some of your advices for that part: thanks! Should I bolean and then fix the topology? or hand make it?
The trouble is what if the model changes and you need to re-bake. Or change the UVs. Or optimize the mesh. Or anything at all happens? Now you have to paint out the errors again. It's not a good workflow.
Cant seem to model this shape, tried it 3 times over now and its a mess everytime. The bevels on the sides and top is what is getting me. This is what I have so far. Thanks!
@Varravik can you please share a screenshot of the object you're modeling whether background image - reference...etc or even a brief description because it's really for me at least, unclear what you're trying to do?
Hey im trying to model the hip joint a clone wars style b1 battle droid, ive tried several iterations but none have seemed to work properly. Heres my current attempt as well as some references. Ive also circles areas of issues that are causing pinching and what not. The area that is causing me the most issue is the cut out…
Don't remember how the screwdriver is (don't really use them all that much) and the screw I used as reference has the inside a bit dirty and it's quite small, so I definitely didn't notice that it isn't flat. I guess the center is deeper? I'll check on google (no, seriously, the screws I have around are not that good of a…
I was refering to the OP's question about: Am I on the right track and just need to do a few tweaks? And was also somekind wondering why my simplest re-modelling (the same topology) doesn't have such a clearly visible buldge.. so it could be enhanced in a not too cumbersome manner.. The model also doesn't have such a shiny…
After you have insetted, extruded and scale your model to you liking you may rotate it 45 degree in the viewport and switching to orthogrphic view and then have a look into the bisect tool.. after pinning all UVs a simple edge selection and mkae face (with thr F2 addon) will also add correspondending UVs.. now this…
"Avoiding unnecessary complexity will make the modeling process a lot easier and can help prevent surface flow issues and visible smoothing artifacts." Indeed! For me, a very hard lesson too learn among others.
Hey Perna! I have no idea how to model in the flat Shape which is coming after the box, without to destroy the round shape of the cylinder...and on the other side of the weapon the cylinder is normal round, not flat.
