graphics card recommendations?
well I got my shiny new pc last summer and already i feel the graphics card is not performing that well and off late I am getting weird corruption, invisible menus etc so think i will get a new one. Anyone recommend a good one. I use max , zbrush and pshop mainly -

I might end up switching to blender as my primary once my student license runs out this summer, not sure what the AutoDesk unemployed feature really provides, not much info on it from what I have seen. What more could you want anyway, it can export to FBX now too. -

I was going to give it a go over the summer, but the big killer for me is Photoshop. I've seen people run it with varying success in a VM or Wine, but if you're going to use PS often, there's no real sense in hurting your performance/usability. I got a gallon of mead going on right now. 2 months in primary so far and it tastes pretty good. :D I plan on doing another small test batch very soon and another big one in the summer. Just bought a 20-25 litre glas carboy. Much deliciousness to be had indeed! -

I got in! Just got a call from them this evening to say I've been accepted onto the Summer program. Was kinda concerned since a lot of people seem to hear back in a day or two, and it's been a week or so since I applied. I know it's not like a major application procedure but whatever, I'm excited! -

That seems like a bad deal to be honest. During a summer sale you could probably pick up half the steam library permamently for that much money. In 2-3 years you would permanently own every game on Steam. A subscription service would be cool though, maybe something like cafe accounts but for regular users. -

Thanks for the feedback Stavaas and garriola. I've made some subtle tweaks, probably still not 100%. But I'm not gonna do any drastic changes at this point. My exam is in a few hours so I'll post the final renders here afterwards! Probably also gonna keep tweaking it this summer, and maybe do a game model of it. -

This is the concrete pillar I redid. I tried to make my specular a little bit more interesting, added blood, oil, and a bit of liquid on the specular. I removed the graffiti to make it more reusable. Gonna make a parking garage this summer using this kind of pillar's so any comments, or tips are really appreciated :D
