I usually stick to flash for all of my 2D animation work, just because most companies I've worked for with 2d animation use it. I think Toon Boom is more useful for large tv/movie productions, but if all you want to make are sprite animations photoshop/flash are good enough usually
Really look nice so far ! Just one thing, have you try another doily/mat ? Those one look like asian sushi restaurant while usually in those kind of restaurant they use white paper one that they throw after people eat. (since it's usually messy juicy food)
yeah, most of the time it seems this is an issue with filling a mesh with (usually) multiple materials, then doing other nonsense after switching materials again. I have a lot of trouble recreating it, so I'm not exactly sure what causes it other than that. I usually just paint the original material onto it again and it's…
I modeled and engineered the original giant sized Bertie and all his weapons, back before the creation of 3A. I have a lot of material from that project, so let me see what I can dig up. In the meantime here is a series of notes about the renders. Playdo hit me up in PM, I hope he doesn't mind, but he asked excellent…
We do the same pretty much, our prop artists plans and creates the props together with us level artist. We then take the props and dress the levels. Basically you're in charge of everything visually in the level. You are also key to bringing the whole level together, which could be constantly talking to level designers…
Hello people, for those of you who would like to have jQuadCloth for Maya 2020, I just compiled it and updated the files in Gumroad. You can just download it from the usual link: https://gumroad.com/l/Qeoz The code was not changed at all though. So it's still version 0.20 and it's unstable as usual. Have fun!
Usually tris, someone my answer that question thinking in quads but nowadays when someone ask "what's the poly count of this mesh ?" he usually means "what's the tris count ?". In any case it is better to specify, so instead of asking "what's the poly count" it's better to ask "what's the tris count". Same thing for…
Yup, I agree with Mark. Going back and forth, having 2 threads for the same show is dumb. But Gir, you can always watch it online. Its usually posted within an hour after airing where I am (EST -5). If i get home after the show starts, I usually do that.
Well, no human faces (that first one is almost too extreme to count). Usually game characters have faces, mostly human. When it comes to marketing yourself to employers, this would be a good places to start. I mean, I usually don't even consider someone a character artist without a few nice male/female characters.
I would say no. It really depends what you are painting. Example: If you are painting wood. Wood is usually fairly monotone. Metal is another that you want very little contrast in. More contrast in the spec than in the diffuse. There is never usually a set "rule" for everything. They are just tools... And not every tool…
