It seems like you're rushing this. My comment before was to say that yes you are starting to develop a likeness, but you are by no means done. You have stunning reference with that scan, your sculpt does not look like that, and as far as I'm aware the whole point is to nail the likeness with this project? As Nathan says…
The face needs a way more depth and shape. Currently your face is flat and the human face isn't. Image 7 is a good one to orientate on. Try to start rough and focus more on how his skull works. The form of his jaw and the eye section. Take also a ref image of the human skull to match it with other ref images. Also keep an…
Looks good, especially for a first head sculpt :) The main thing that I noticed was that the overall head shape is off - take a look at the top right image on your reference sheet. The backside of the skull looks a bit different shape wise and especially on the top of the skull yours looks almost flat with the highest…
Looking good after one day mate. But those vine straps really need to pop a bit more (I know it's still WIP). Maybe by having a gap here and there so we can see some of the skull through it. Also maybe you could of had the skull slight oversized in appearance. That may of added more to the overall silhouette. Looks amazing…
Just wanted to say your humanoid dudes face gave me a good chuckle. Cool creation. For the skulls I can see you improving each time! Keep it up! One thing I notices was around the teeth, they bulge the skull a little where they fit inside the jaw and it is not a straight line across but like a bunch of mini arches. See…
thanks for the crits and the references. I tried to include all your suggestions. You are right about the back of the skull, I new something was off, but I guess I looked at it for too long. I made a compromise between what I had and the reference you provided, as the person seems to have a really short skull and a long…
hey bb0x, thanks for the feed! I did something similar with the skull but I wasn't really happy with the result, maybe i'll try to put on a temp texture painted in PS to see if the stretch is that bad. Now I followed some of your advices and came up with this: I halved the polycount of the blade(now the whole thing is 700…
One thing that has really really helped with faces is to study skulls as well, and pay attention to just how much variance there is in them! I've posted this elsewhere but this should help. They are grouped, all except the top singular one is caucasuan, whereas he is african.…
It's not sexist. :) Projects like Tropes vs Women in Video Games is something to educate people and urge them to think beyond the colour pink and one-word characterisations, like "female". :) Project looks cool! How about adding some red glow on the flaming flying skull? Currently it's like the flames are not casting any…
Pretty cool looking so far! First off, put some tongues in them thar gargoyles! Nothing says warhammer like a good tongue.. Second, with the skulls in the alcoves, the ones in the back that are receded, I think are pushed a bit too far back. It loses the illusion of being a pile. Bring that puppy out a little more (not so…
