EDIT: ups I quoted both. nvm. idk how to delet it lol. Well it's my first post here and I'm actually very new to 3D. But its my approach to that model!
Thanks can you expand on that? the overhang is already a model by it self I have just set it on the tower. or are you talking about creating the small stones under as separate pieces and place them on?
How do I model a circular shape around a 4 corner shape around a circular shape? I get overlapping face. Tried multiple ways but nothing worked, help please :)
@iacdxb You're on the right track, just experiment with it. I would model it clean, UV it, then use a cloth sim or sculpt it by hand, or do a displacement map with a cloth height map for quick iterations.
Hey guys! I am new to the 3ds Max modelling and my question is, what is the easiest way to "turbosmooth" this weapon part, which was made in Solidworks. Or is there any tutorial, how to do that correctly?
Model out something like this: Then something like this and just use booleans to cut the geometry: Then just clean up the geometry. Here is a quick and shitty example of what I did in few minutes:
Maybe put the details in normal or displacement slot? or use a pattern in Zbrush to apply a tileable alpha. this is possible but would require a certain amount of time if you want to model it in your 3d app.
oke guys, im in dire need of some advice! I am modeling this scene atm. for a study project and have allot with the main "doorway" piece. How would you approach such an object ?
