So i started boxing out the house to get a feel for it. This screen is a few hours old so the house will be plus 32 units in width. The window and door module is 12*12, the top is 2*12 and the base 2*12 (which I just realized doesn't add up). I've also started to plan the textures. The texel density is 64px/unit. This is…
Hi Rainy, digging the overall look of your Gasstation Scene! Here are some things that i found odd and stuff that cought my eye. Bathroom: -The lamp by the bathroom is hanging at a low postion. -The Door texture is looking somewhat flat, lacking depth, in comparison the the walls (See concept image you posted)…
Your texture painting is getting there, but you need to figure out what those walls are made of. Brick? Concrete? Right now you have completely solid concrete slabs with brick wallpaper painted onto them. You also have a little too much normal on objects that aren't established as to what they are. If these are concrete…
No one has mentioned the fact that a concrete company bought it, but there's wooden ramps. Usually concrete parks are all concrete and metal, since they're usually outdoors. That's my only crit that hasn't been said already though. I'd love to skate that place =D
The model looks much, much better and much more efficient, great improvement! I think the reason that the concrete doesn't look like concrete is because of the scale of the texture. You used a very zoomed in image of concrete that doesn't work for the amount of surface area you have covered with it.
you're off to a good start man... solid the first thing that blew my mind is the overall sense of scale. those slabs look ENORMOUS... if it is a car garage, this area will be poured concrete, in which case you will see one of two instances... either a completely flat filled area of concrete, or a filled area with seams…
There are tons of videos describing how to build concrete block walls. I think I watched most of them before working on my foundation for my old house. Google search "laying concrete block" , "laying brick" or even "concrete slab wall construction" Actually I find the stuff interesting, and can now build house foundations…
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it. @Peyd3d =) You’re absolutely right about the shading issues. I’ve gone over the meshes several times and addressed a number of those areas already. Some of the round and beveled assets were causing issues, so I’ve increased the geometry there to improve the…
Not to shabby, I like that you're thinkin' modular! About the planned texture swaps, concrete floor for wood with concrete walls. that seems a little odd to me. Normally you would have a concrete base and maybe wood walls. Keep chuggin along! A lot of people started out with weird 3D apps and managed to make the transition…
looks cool but the material differientiation doesn't look right to me. Right now it reads like the whole thing is made of mud and has a layer of concrete on the outside. Damaged concrete would still has the color or concrete (but yes indeed you could add some dirt in it, but not plain dirt on every damaged surface). I hope…
