Pretty sure Foundry is good at optimizing it for windows. Been using Nuke on windows and runs smooth...Nuke on mac >.> Let's just say it likes to crash...or maybe its the works mac.
I completed my metallurgy degree almost only for this reason but it would be a sad day for me if I ever have to go back to a steel factory or a foundry.
I checked with the people on the foundry and so far it seems that Modo just selects face differently. Not that big a deal I guess, I just wanted to be sure.
I imagine if the Foundry have been concentrating heavily on improving Mari for a game dev pipeline, they will add some nice features to the new Modo update as well.
The Foundry and Pixologic should trade tech. Pixo gives Zremesher in return for Modo's quick posing tools which is much quicker and intuitive than it's IK-less TransposeMaster.
I have a feeling you will see the Foundry get far more competitive as a means to put their products in areas generally dominated by Autodesk products. Allegorithimic continues to impress though. Glad they are on "our" side. =)
Well, you should definitely give it a try, it has 30-days trial and Foundry is even considering giving a non-commercial version for free now. https://www.thefoundry.co.uk/products/modo/
