i have a pencil model unwrapped and partially painted in photoshop. how can use the mix of both vray default mats + my own painted texture? i want the texture just to be applied to the tip of the pencil,whereas the rest of the pencil uses the default vray diffuse color. -

It's just another pencil. It will shake the artists world up for sure, with Stable Diffusion being free even more. But it will never make artists obsolete. It's still the artist that creates the art. I have hard time understanding why people try to smudge and smear their work in the first place. Values can be built up and blended with pencil alone just fine. If you have large areas to cover use side of pencil and you'll get charcoal-like marks. Do you use blending tools to get rid of actual pencil marks? and if yes,… -

Vatsel: I know this is a the noob question since I have the art pencil set for every size of shading yet prefer to use the 0.5mm pencil (mechanical) and get to shade my art just fine.. What pencil do you use for such shading? to detail in dark and defining shadow? -

Mojo I love the way the device looks like a half helm for a spacemarine and the pencils are actually nuclear loaded bullets! RexM you are a marketing guy's wet dream :) is there any kind of new and totally unproven tech you're prepared to doubt :) while I'm really impressed with the device, some of your logic there is a little flawed. For instance getting rid of pencil from a pencil/pen scan is very simple. Pen is way darker than pencil -

I would say play around with different ways to hold a pencil. That would let you test out if it is indeed the way you hold the pencil.
