The model built in Max uses a diffuse map, right? If so, you could export the model to Zbrush, convert the diffuse map to vertex colors and then bake the vertex cols to you new model.
Hey there im in the same class as Giles and doing the same project. I am a total novice when it comes to Mel. I was hoping maybe you guys could answer one or two questions i'm having. I'm going about this in a different manner to Giles and trying to keep it super simple. So far i have a script that generates randomly…

Need to update my random select as well. global proc UCXnameUI(){string $window = `window -title "UCXNamer v.0.9"`;string $meshName;string $meshSuf;string $meshLetter;rowColumnLayout…
Another cross-posted polypaint. 'Not at all looking forward to retop, but I can't wait to bake these so-and-so's... Guedin: thanks a lot. Now I can't think of anything but how Col. O'Neil would deliver that speech in Glory.
Today's update.... This drawing was just a quick(ish) value study with the prismacolor col-erase! There is so much more potential in wax pencil crayons than there is in standard graphite (in my opinion). I don't think I can go back!
I don't remember why it floats like that, I guess reactor is adding a shell around the mesh for collision, I'll tell ya if I figure it out. edit; found it in the utilities panel mess with the Col. Tolerance, seems to fix that right up
