Ah right sweet cheers guys, i always thought you deleted have the model don't know why. Also if someone doesn't mind answering this, could i just use a plane to model finger nails for a low poly (creature nails so it needs to be Geo) or would only one side of it show up?
In my studio, the most common uses for IK's are for legs and arms. We do a lot of animals. If we are doing a creature that uses multiple joints when it walks, like a horse, we typically use a spring solver. But for things like a tail or elephant trunk, we just use driven keys to control the bend and swing of it.
[ QUOTE ] So, it would be very plausable for me to pursue a film-related career. I'll have to look into such studios. Thanks. [/ QUOTE ] I had a wander around the Industrial Light & Magic creature shop a while ago. They have a completely seperate surfacing/texturing department from modeling. Strangely it was mostly girls…
use reference! if you don't know what something looks like find out. if you think you know what something looks like find out for sure. especially if you are making a person/creature/being with digitidgrade legs (since no one ever gets them right in the p'n'p forum). reference, reference, reference!
The demon on the left is my favorite, but he also seems less likely to be able to carry your guy, plus I'd actually feel bad for him stuck with that job! The one in the middle seems way more sturdy and is the kind of creature I could see carrying a heavy load all the time. The rider is awesome keep it up!
Thanks mikebart, I actually wanted to keep this form to make sure I could properly shade such a form. Looks a bit less weiner tree then before I guess, more like a creature trapped inside a wooden thingy, or something that houses there, like a hermit. Another update, I'm ready for some solid critique:)
oof. hellboy got raped. at least the raping was Mignola approved though. I can't say I'm happy with many of the weird differences between the comic characters/relationships and the onscreen versions, but at least it wasn't against the creator's will (apparently). It was worth seeing for the creature and effects work, but…
What spiderman 3 didn't need: MaryJane singing and a lot of "i love you" moments. Venom was on-screen for such a short time and was killed even quicker. The sandman effects were awesome! as was the alien black creature. Having not read any of the comics, going as a movie go'er I reeally enjoyed it! The harry Potter trailer…
tnx for the comments guys Shotgun: yeah that is great advice. For the 2faced creature i did a painting but it wasn't the intention to eventually make it into a 3d model so i completely understand that having such a design would be very limited in terms of movement . i'm definitely going to keep that in mind the next time i…
Hmmm... alien fetish! :P I actually liked it. The way u had it before. It reminded me of those alien creatures that made the clone army in star wars ep 2. And it also reminds me of that one cg short. Moon girl. I could dig a link. Harry - post it on ga.....don't be hatin! Lol
