Thanks Yadoob, that's on the right track. Am I correct that vertex snap only works by a) selecting a vert b) selecting linked and c) dragging the selected island to the corresponding vert on another island? And am I correct that that technique would only work one island at a time? The script I showed above can actually…
I get that, but why have 'select/ next active' only choose a single edge and not the edge loop. If I wanted just one edge that's what I would have selected. Just wish blender had more smart selection tools like modo, or maybe it does and they're not readily apparent to me.
I have no idea yet how to work with selection input in geometry nodes. If somebody have an example how to split certain edges only using selection input I would be appreciative . PS. Well . actually you can use same named attribute input to bring vertex group based selections . So the problem is solved
Limit selection to visible is for selection and has nothing to do with snapping. If you think it's a bug (snapping snaps to other side of mesh) let the developers know by submitting a bug report.
The mirror modifier also has the advantage for mesh editing, that you can show it in edit mode and select on either side. This would actually mirror your selection in some sense.
@justo in a new scene go to file>append>select your blend file containing the materials and a list of sub-folders will appear. Go into the materials folder and select your material.
Try "Select Linked Flat Faces", somehow doesn't have a hotkey assigned in my 2.8 beta, was [Ctrl + Shift + Alt + F] before. Works with multiple selections as well.
I'm i'm glad i dont' find a way to change the select setings ; blender don't work like max, i'm think it's possible to change the select behavior with an addons.
he means, you select different object in object mode and then switch to edit mode while only the last object will be in edit mode, you will still see all other objects you previously selected in the uv editor, slightly greyed out you still can only edit the uvs of the last selected object
@MrNinjutsu In the UV editor, have a look at the left most button of the top menu. It should say "UV Sync Selection". If you activate that toggle, it will show you all elements in the UV editor and sync the selection between the 3D editor and UV editor, instead of filtering what you see in the UV editor by the selection of…
