well, for characters nothing beats a nicely structured basemesh to start your sculpt with - and then some manual labour to fine tune it. for anything else i find this quite handy: http://igl.ethz.ch/projects/instant-meshes/
As MACHIN3 already said, it's now on the RMB menu (also available in the Search menu, you can find it by the name "Set Origin"), you can add all the functions you like to the Quick Favorites menu (Q).
Anyone has any issues with the new 2.90 tool search? I can't find some functions that I used to access via a search on previous versions, for example the tessellate addon, or some rigid body functions.

How do the UV tools in standard Blender compare to 3DS Max's UV tools? They seem quite limited from what i have seen? I couldn't even find a 'relax' option unless it is hidden somewhere?
