@respawnrt damnit, I am still stuck and it is frustrating me to the max. I figured out how the slice modifier works but I still can't get the shape I want. this is the closest I get from working of a cylinder :(
Can't figure out how to get it to do that with sweep. The helix one does work though thanks. Just shows how well my brain was working to not think of that :D Using a loft on the helix and a spline of the profile is even better.
There's a big difference between pointing out an error in someones work/art is a silly way, and directing personal criticisms at people. People learn by arguing and discussing work and practices, there's normally a optimal way to do things, but that depends on a lot of factors.
What passerby said. Swiftloop in Max is great tool for that but most of the time it doesn't work out 100% or simply doesn't work correctly. Mostly such parts have to be redone. Sad but true, I experience that quiet often tbh xD
I think this might explain it better, maybe. Basically I need a permanent, distortion free wonder solution that works on all these types of edges. I saw some further ahead in the thread, but they don't seem to work as well for me :(
puh thats sounds like an easy task.. I'm working with Cinema4d, so no turbosmooth available. I did'nt thik of starting with a cube, I will try that (c4d got a sphere deformer, maybe this will work). I'll try tonight, thx.
