So many tri's but couldnt round off the edges of the trumpet? Could you post some wires? textures look nice though, not so keen on that light brown streak across the hair though.
I've had those problem before, it's the from the AO bake. It's one of the unfortunate side effects of using a skylight in scanline to bake your AO. if you nudge the AO pixels over to the edges, it will fix it.
You shouldn't have put lines on the texture to show where the sheets end. In real life, you can barely see them, and it introduces hard, unwanted, edges on your rolls in the final render.
Viktor-n13, looks pretty good but could def use some optimizations removing a lot of edge loops if you wanted to cut the count down even more and it wouldnt affect the looks at all.
After a lot of lurking... FIRST POST! :O Anyway, just a quickie done in an hour or so. Am I allowed to use normals or is that considered a cheat? :D I do love my smooth edges
@9skulls thanks for making me do this :) now it's up to you guys to split some more edges :D had tons of fun making it, and will do the rider soon, so it's a complete piece of work :) and a turntable
Mr_Drayton - Thanks! I removed the edge loop from the seat and some underneath. I was able to get the bike under 1k tris so I'ma keep the tubes 4 sided if I was to reduce it anymore I'd consider going that route. JacqueChoi - Buzz Lightyear is Gnarly! Spacey - Thank you for the paintover and the tips! I went through your…
Ah the old London Brick warmup. ;) my tip would be to chamfer the edges a tiny bit to get rid of the harsh corners. But not too much. Daryl said mine looked like a rubber when I did it :(
How do you extrude a single sided edge/polygon off of a closed poly object in max to create clothing flaps or polygons for hair in 3ds Max as I have seen some examples of here in the thread?
this is a very quick (12- minutes) little random car, for say like a topdown game. The big killer for this one is the side's edge distorting it badly, so yeah i'd say this would only look good on a saturn
