Fogbrain»» your volumes are pretty sick, it's a relly nice height map :) . Could be perfect to place a brick gutter in the center of the pavement, could make sense with your Sewer plate. Curious to see your color ! Käy.Vriend»»» It's really subgective but did you have try to darken your sewer plate to have more contrast…
Hey guys! I'm a long time lurker who is still learning his trade. I don't know if this is the right place but I've recently wanted to make the jump from quixel to substance and decided to play around with substance designer. I picked it up yesterday and I've fallen in love with it! Here is my first substance. (an…
@josh_lynch I'm using two tile generators. If I'm honest I'm not sure what advantage tile sampler has over the generator. I agree that the horizontals make it look like they're placed deliberately, that was the desired effect, but they are toooo straight. Edit: Using a splatter circular node to lop off some of the corners…
Hey Stanley - Great start man! There's nothing there that stands out as wrong. Just keep plowing through it. You'll find you learn something with every new mat you do. Robin those stone/bricks look really nice! Okay I think my last post didn't show but here's a mat we've been working on. It's been a pretty cool experience…
Loving that Vince! Can't wait for you to finish. Only thing I can crit right now is that the pupil looks a little too harsh - Like it needs to get a little bit of reflection, and could use some blurring around the edges. Looks great though. Still in Mray? Had a minute to stare at some bricks.. Looking a little close to…
@dzibarik I like where this is going so far :). Do you have a picture of what you're looking at for inspiration or reference? Definitly getting the stylized feel. How much control do you have over it? Can you change brick amount/color/age? @arvinmoses I've been trying to create a herringbone using multiple tiling nodes…
Hi polycounters :P i just started to "play" with SD 2 or 3 days ago and i´ve done 3 substances (im sooo bad at procedural or nodal programs). I was helped by some tutorials and im newbie.. but critics are welcome :) And im finding some tutorials to make wood and water or other liquids on bricks cracks and clefts, if u can…
Josh, your tiles are awesome, maybe a bit too wavy when looking at them on the plane. But the diffuse is flawless ajester: Maybe look at this tutorial by Richard Piper it could give you a base to work with…
Yeah definitely the only thing that bothered me was the leaves. I almost took them off entirely, I made them originally in a separate graph so I didn't know how it would look until it was near the completion of the entire substance. I think a directional warp with my brick heightmap or mask should do the trick. It was a…
Your cracks look nice, but with a lot of things on starting tiles and bricks they just flow across betwen each tile. A simple way to fix this is take a duplicate of the node you used to make the tiles, take everything except luminance variation out. You then link this to the intensity input on a directional warp and play…
