I've used the MOVEN system: http://www.xsens.com/en/general/mvn And it works well - but it's nowhere near as cheap as using kinect. You'll have a hard time finding any motion capture that's in the same price range as kinect.
Yes, the "by smoothing groups" part is missing and that REALLY sucks. I love doing that in Max. Although, I wonder how hard it would be for someone to write a script that selected all edges that are bordering differing smoothing groups. Hmm...
Thank you so much for your kind words guys! I hope i will finish it on time, i had some personal mishap last week but now I am ready once more to work hard on it.
There's gotta be no way that'll look decent enough on this gen's hardware and even Volta would be hard pressed to get close I'm sure. I'm wondering if this is a status/statement kinda thing, to become immortalized sort of like Crysis.
Beware though, .3ds format breaks the mesh along uv and hard edge seams, and only supports 8.3 file names in its materials (8 characters maximum for texture file names, with 3 characters maximum for extensions).
He looks awesome @FemCharles! Congrats on finishing and good luck! My only suggestion - bluish-grey material of highpoly render bit hard to read on blue background make one of them warmer, either material or background.
the folds seems a bit too much "hard surface" in some places even on a stilized character i would like to see a bit more rounded but well maybe with a textures it gets better, anyways its a good work!
That is an interesting jump kick! The beginning feels a little stiff but he is an android XD I agree with what was mentioned above, some parts are really fast its a little hard to tell whats happening. Overall cool work!
those look really appealing! I don't know if we ever had a UI guy in this forum hahaha so I think it would be hard to find it in the animation section :P but those looks really good and clear!
I not arguing against the 2 man teamwork. I'm pointing out that the RPG shouldn't lock onto anything. Grenade launchers are dumb, and fly in straight lines. They aren't laser guided, and make hard turns. That's what Javalins are for.
