If you share textures and materials between the pieces its ok, just make an atlas of all the textures you need for your pieces and use one (few) materials between all the pieces.. More problematic than polycount is draw count - how many draw calls your materials produce.
Sorry, I forgot to mention, that I have used specular map also. Her are spec and render and wireframe of hi poly. Also I don't like those waves on my normal, I`ve browsed polycount and found, that it is the reason when low poly has low count of polys.
sooo, maybe a stupid question- but I honestly don't know, and i think it's one of my problems... 47K sound like a whole lot... Is that what current gen polycounts are? I Always feel like mine have to be as minimal as possible which ends up hurting me in the long run...

Looking ace as always spacemonkey. The day I joined polycount I did so because of your Dom war entry lol (one before last). Inspiring stuff. The hair looks a little sharp on your flats though, its almost got that rim effect going on around the lines.
i think it would help if you posted the reference up..i would add more depth by increasing the polycount, for example the arches should demand more polygons for a more rounded feel. add damage to the pillars, maybe add more debris on the floor..everything's looking pretty good Davett29
Make no mistake Oxy. I´m all for it considering I´m a hard surface modeler. To bad I don´t have a work-comp at home (and won´t have for a few months). :) Imslightlybored is kinda right though. That´s the sad part. If it was a polycount comp the dicktank would be the winner.
