You've got some good starts here. My one issue is that your characters don't seem to be doing things. They've got these sort of static pre-posed looks, whereas it should look more like a candid photo. For example, your blizzcon entry looks more like someone said "Hold your arm out and pretend to push something," rather…
These are the props I entered into the Shogunate ArtStation Challenge. Combination Long Rifle "Whisper in the Wind" The design is based off an original concept I had made for the challenge. I love multipurpose weapons and things that lock together to create something new. Working on the Shogunate ArtStation Challenge, I…
latest Soul Calibur trailer which I luckily got to work on. I did the rusty swords( zbrushing/texturing) and the texturing/materials on the shiny swords. http://keyframestudios.co.uk/soul-calibur-v-trailer Not my usual sort of job, but cool to work on anyway. Done by Keyframe studios for maverick media
- the lighting needs work (show some highlights from water/rain on the materials) - there needs be water dripping down and off the armor/sword (especially on the hands/red cloth to emphasize the mood. - the cross guard on the sword should cast shadow on blade
There! I used Ddo and I'm sold. I want to use it on every project! I still have to tweek some textures and add the shield and sword. I might have to redo the sword so it fits the design. This is rendered in Marmoset toolbag.
Oh my bad, I just assumed it was supposed to be metal. Here is a tutorial where Racer445 textured a sword. I think the handle of the sword has sort of the rubbery look you may be going for: http://www.nextgenhardsurface.com/index.php?pageid=racer445
Looks good so far. I feel like the could be some more texture detail on the metal sword, the edge being lighter, and I'm not sure if the wood sword would be that shiny given that they didn't have shellac back then. Cool stuff.
Awesome article. Are you sure the sword is post processing and not just 6 scaled models of the same sword? Also FYI IK'd feet is at least as old as Virtua Fighter 3 - 1996/97 Search for video showing them fighting on steps.
hey! just wanted to say that i'm almost done with the kunkka sword! I decided to not do the necrophos scythe as it seemed just a bit too complicated. I have just finished the high-poly model for the sword and it should be done by the end of the week!
Lovin this!! Sweet as sculpting, so damn slick. I would assume the sword was bestowed upon him in some manner?Tis quite a nice sword, I think it fits in quite nicely, just need a means to keep it attached. Keep it up!
