I might have a go at modelling that Huskar axe if that's ok? Purely as practice seeing as I'm not great at 3D work, but I'll screenshot it if it comes out ok :)
I'm completely unfamiliar with the AX, but that buggy is sick. And having a caged cockpit that's still open design is nice blend between the two designs. Looking forward to more
Haha thanks :) Cant tell in those pics very well, but its epicness is enhanced with dwarf braids. cool thing is, with these I'm legally permitted to carry an axe :)
hi, I got the axe maya file off there workshop page, then added the defalt texture for the body it came with, but it seems to be transparent, anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
Your models are decent and lit nicely on their own... but they could use at least a really small diorama environment per object. Doesn't need to be complex. For example: The first image of the portfolio piece of the axe could be sticking out on a tree stump, and the tree stump could be surrounded by a small piece of grass…
Now you have full OSL in ,ax. Also most renderer has AO/Curvature shader. Even RichDirt still available I think. I don't think you would miss that much From MR.
Some color variation in the texture would go a long way, because he looks like he's been through a lot of shit. Also, the axe could be quite a bit bigger. Other than that, it looks amazing!
UPDATE: Textures and lighting improved. Wireframe: ~57K tris including the axe. Vikings were actually very careful of their looks. They had a sense of fashion and grooming. Reference: http://www.hurstwic.org/history/articles/daily_living/text/health_and_medicine.htm
I think the green bulges make it look like he is severely ill and not fit to fight. But that's just my opinion. I love the axe. I wonder how you made the metal texture so good.
