I am Loving the update, huge thank you goes to Epic. I just thought I would add a list of tutorials I found, copyed curtsey of our University forum www.3dhit.co.uk Videos Tutorials Raven67854: UDK Video Tutorials(Youtube): http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=707437 IWillShutUDown:…
You'll want to have a fiddle around with the IK solver in max and just press a bunch of buttons... I managed to get you the inverse of what you need: the top folds first and then the lower ones fold. I'm not really a rigger/animator so I'm not much more help, I'm afraid. Maybe this is enough to get you looking in the right…
You know, the drawing looks a lot cooler than the model. I think also, at this stage, you should be presenting your model with no diffuse coloration. Its only hurting our (and your) ability to see what you've modeled and how it works or doesn't. I see areas where elements just didn't translate that well, or where you've…

Only solution I found is to subdividing a plane and overlay every new face to the 1:1 uv space. problem is…
Model wise it's pretty weak, did you bake a normal map? It needs a real texture. I think you shouldn't work on this for a portfolio piece to be totally honest. Or even have a portfolio at this point. Hell, I don't even have one. Don't be in a big rush, take your time with it and study some refs a little more. I'm not…

Pulling an alpha mask from a bkg color is tough, you have to hand-paint a good amount of the alpha. Also the background color tends to bleed into the leaves and bark. So using a red or blue sheet isn't a good idea. For a good silhouette and an alpha that isn't too dense, you want a flat wide branch with few overlapping…
