Thanks for the reply, Do you mean rigging or skinning? I know you said rigging, but just wanted to make sure... I rigged the current character in t-pose, but I have tried adjusting the skin in other poses as well. Somehow it's just the shoulder area that's never right. Also, does the mirror vertice weights actually work? I…
Hello, You need to create an NGon before you create the new vertices ( so they can snap to the face ). Just select the border where you have your gap now and use the cap tool. Start the cut from one of the border vertices and create nice quads around the cylinder. Then delete the cylinder face. The snap settings are fine…
With that type of layout, pieces could tile vertically (wood and stone) or horizontally (wall and roof) a bit depending on how it's flipped. Vertically should be able to tile as long as it needs to, while horiztonal pieces would only be able to flip once unless the geo is split up like suggested (in that example the roof…
I have trouble snapping vertices or edges inside max. It's glitchy sometimes the markers disappear and sometimes it freezes. Very hard for me to snap a vertex on gridpoint, cause 1 out of 3 times it won't snap accurately. Making life hard when geometry has to tile. Does anyone know any scripts that can perform snaps like…
Hello, I have a problem with making loop selections in Maya. It usually makes the first loop as I want it - e.g. horizontally. However, when I pick the next two polygons it will always make a vertical selection and go up and down instead sideways. So how can I avoid Maya from selecting loops in a "cross" fashion? I can't…
Taking inspiration from Robinson the Journey: https://80.lv/articles/material-design-of-robinson-the-journey/ I recreated the tar substance while adding in some extra features of my own... I made everything more interconnected. While fiddling around with the effects, I noticed that things look more realistic and natural…
The question isn't a little basic but I think your explanation kinda is ;) It sounds like you're trying to apply a texture without spending too much time in the UV editor. If all the walls are to receive the same texture maps then a tiling texture would be the way to go. Now I really am not by any means a pro with tiling…
Nice blockout @nurichez. I think from some angles the shape could be tweaked slightly to support the conical look and flow of the design (red). To make it look even more cartoony/ expressive, some lines could be pushed past the original blueprints (yellow), so they're less straight horizontal/ vertical. Personally, would…
You seems to have extruded parts of this "rips", constructed the circular part connect it; selected the inner part, extruded it and scaled them in your X axis like so..? Consider to extrude and reposition the inner part like that.. (also as mentioned) maybe adding more vertices to the circle part:
@thomasp Doesn't bother you being a curved monitor for modeling and texturing? Also is Wacom Intuos tablet working fine on your ultra wide monitor? 34" ultra wide has not enough screen space vertically, it's just a wider 27" monitor. But I've just found 38" ultra wide from Dell and LG which have around 3 cm more vertically…
