Yeah make sure sRGB is ticked for the albedo slot. If you accidentally load your albedo map in your normal map slot for instance that will take it as linear space, which will make it appear brighter. oh i just noticed something in your "how to" image here: http://www.purepolygons.com/temp_images/polycount_7-27-2014/tut_03.jpg absolutely DO NOT make water very bright in your reflectivity map. water has an extremely LOW reflective point, because most light passes through it! water is around 0.02 linear reflectivity. -

No prob! On this new one, it'd be cool if you did a linear gradient on the main/preliminary block shape so you get a better sense of overlap and a cooler height map. They're overlapping on your tile but look like they're all on the same plane so it's confusing. Keep doing the stuffs! Each one gets better! :D -

Amazing! Good to hear the exploring is going back to a more non-linear feel like CE... it looks great. Not too huge a fan of the art direction for the environments, looks a bit muddy and dark, but I guess we aren't on a ring world anymore... can't wait for this though. Weapons look awesome.
