Ah I wasnt in edit seams-mode, thanks corv I would instead select all the edges instead and then select Edge Sel To Seams, which is probebly the more difficult way of doing it
thanks - there'll stil be some room for tweaks, like proportions etc, so i imagine that things will change before final me too! hopefully within a couple of weeks there'll be some progress on that!
Hey guys, This is my first post on Polycount, I'm going to be making this environment for my production class project. I'll update when I've made some progress :) http://attachments.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=838945&stc=1&d=1259246576
Basicaly what i wisht to obtain is this: With Arnold i have "diffuse reflactions" tab and vray Maya "diffuse texture", i try to use override mtl in vray 3ds max but without the desired result.
So my Art Jam theme is FTL: I've finished blocking in the ship - The Basilisk. The materials have the Gili Monster colours, I know, but it's all about the Basilisk and 4 glorious teleporters. Game ref:
ehhh I still think I would tint the main part of the gun towards a more brass-ish color. http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=70434&stc=1&d=1354024554 See the colors?

if there would be a side like this http://www.visualcenter.ch/vray-mtl/ for arnold i would take it in consideration. But other than that I just don't see the benefit of arnold other than it being "simple". Which is no benefit.
