This is my first time working with ue4 and my metal surfaces look terrible compared to sp and marmoset how it is supposed to look. Marmoset and ue4 are both only using 3 spotlights in the same place to get similar lighting.
This looks great! I am going to try the bark in SD later on. Could you also advise me on how you made the foliage? Was this done using high poly and SP/SD or what was your workflow? Thanks!
for painting, yes. for baking though? i have a 770 GTX and can't find any setting in SP that looks like it would switch CPU/GPU. my bake must have been happening on CPU. took ages.
Here's an example from my own work. This is the exact same game level, just tweaking the camera angle and materials and color grading to get different "looks". It's actually a ton of fun doing this, because all the content is made already. It's just putting a fun spin on it all to come up with something nice to look at.…
Hi, In Maya, I was wondering if theres a way to bake a colour ID map for multiple udims rather than it just baking onto one uv tile? Its for SP masking/assigning. Does anyone know of a way? Cheers
Thanks, NikhilR! Its a semi-process of tracing and warping in photoshop, then I drew the parts that weren't able to warp correctly so it would look flat. Later on, I exported the image to SP painted for clean-up.
Haha cool, let me reply with my normals in UE4 (that's what I care about). I guess it it works in SP, Knald and UE4 and it doesn't work in Marmoset, it's the fault of Marmoset (or the settings your using within it).
++1 for Blender and a burgeoning FOSS alternative IMHO to SP, recently on the scene is AmorPaint. https://armorpaint.org/ Been following it's progress, the dev is an absolute Trojan workhorse he's already onto v3.3 within the space of a few months.
The way he has it set up, it appears to me, that he may go with a hand painterly style. At least that's how I envision it. I could be wrong with SP you can do just about anything.
How did you get the silent install to run? I've tried pushing a deployment with PDQ deploy, but it seems to get hung up with the vcredist installer. I'm using these switches: Quixel_SUITE_2.2.1_Setup.exe /SP- /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART
