Thanks for the heads up, I will definitely work on creating and polishing smaller works and props, with a focus on current industry methods. My passion really shows up when I'm working on hand painted and stylized models so I think I will start with that.
Really nice man, I love what you're doing here. I've been noodling around with this art test myself and sculpting the stylized pieces is a great way to go. Can't wait to see this finished; Better hurry though, not long until the dealine.
Think of it like you would a person or a car. Even if it is a fictional design, or the character has pink hair and big muscles - it still needs to be based off of reality to read naturally to an audience. Trying to stylize something you don't understand the basis of is always hard.
This is awesome, dude. The proportions work as is for a cartoony look -- for mega-stylized but belivable anatomy i think the only thing that needs a tweak is the angle of the arms (shoulderpads can stay as is) -- i did a little drawover to show what i'm thinking when i see it.
Im going for tim burton style. I want to detail it as much as possible and still have it be stylized. it doesn't nescessarily need to fit in any game I just need it to be able to be used in a game it's going to be a portfolio piece. polypainting, zbrush, the whole deal?
so ultimately, yes you can be a good 3d artist without 2d skills... but why settle for good? Especially with the trend towards stylized rather than photo-real art, wouldn't you want to be able to make textures without relying on a photograph?
Hello everyone ! I hope you're all having a great day. This is my new personal project inspired by different styles in order to achieve a blend between stylized and realistic look and it's good practice to try new stuff and techniques, I hope you like it. Character artist looking for Tech Artist to rig and skin a variety of different character. Not for any particular project, but for my own enjoyment. Would love to get a collaborative relationship going. Three stylized characters are ready to go. here is one of them: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/9maNkQ
So I've been going through the GameDev.tv Blender Character Creator course on Udemy and thought I'd post my progress here. Here's what the finished sculpt looks like: And the low poly version (probably more like mid poly because its nearly 14k tris) And here's some topology:
Hello Forums!, After spending a long time at school I finally get to get back to modeling (Woo!!!). Here is the concept that I drew up for this character. Most Recent Update: This is where I am currently for the sculpture. I'm having a tough time tackles down the hair. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
