Hey! So i want to get into making levels. atm not really for a game. But the issiue i came across is really only the layout. I can make the moduals and the art, not really an issiue for me, but when it comes to the map layout i kinda freeze. Got any tips? tricks? , Rayco
It doesn't matter what the UV Layout is of the low-poly....If you have 1 model with 2 different UV layouts, the normal map will bake to them the same regardless. As long as the uv's are laid out properly.
Low resolution retop plus UV layouts: I left a little room in the body UV layout for a couple more tools for her tool belt and or accessory details I would like to make for her.

To manually layout UV and acquire high quality only way is practice. But this is a plodding work, we should not waste our life and vigor on this. So I give up maya's UV layout system, I use other tools.

This is sweet, I love realistic versions of the Pokemon universe. I agree with EvanL, I think the layout should bit more natural. Keep the general layout the same, but break up the straight lines and right angles.
oooh, nice layout. i ended up going with this layout: i have 2 seams, the bast of the tail and the top of the paws, but fortunately, nothings showing up on the viewport and it's a dark dog too. thanks for the tips man
I'm the same as you but I think it's best to just get the modelling and UV layout done in Maya and then use UE4 to apply your diffuse, bump, spec etc, maps of your UV layout onto your model inside of UE4 :)
