if max ignores hotkeys in certain parts of the app or if pressing them triggers the wrong functions and your keyboard seems to work fine otherwise outside max, check the keyboard shortcut override function. toggling that should solve your problem.…

I believe Aleksandra was saying that the mesh is 8800 tris and that the scythe is around 1300 tris. That doesn't seem like to much of a stretch seeing as how we have a view of the meshes as quads, and the Kayn mesh looks like it could be made up of 4400 quads.

Is this meant to be for real time? If it is then you should consider how many polygons you are using for this model. Try taking it down to around 8-10,000 from 44,000 if you can.
