I don't mind the proportions, or the collar. And I realize you've wound up putting in a lot of hours as a direct result of the advice given in this thread. Still, though, some of the things you're insisting upon will not make sense to anyone but you. Which is fine for personal art you're doing on your own time for the sake…
I agree with Jesse here, but you guys have to consider one thing. Something that separates "us from them" is that a lot of us have worked hard to get where we are today, regardless of whether or not we worked as a QA or at a shitty small studio that didn't pay anything. A QA job or an intern isn't necessarily a guarantee…
good start Seth. IMO push the curves soften the musculature, watch the shape of the thighs especially in the 3/4- here's a PO which I may have pushed too far but the point is made I think.
Super nice work man! I'm with Scythe about pushing the pose though. Shifting weight on her legs a bit and pushing the contrapposto might help make thangs pop. Can we see the texture flats? :)
Looking nice. I like the framing. I would say push a good balance of warm/cools in the lighting. Like have the environment fog/lighting be a cool greenish blue and push the window lights to a orangey color.
@Skyerzz Hey thanks for the feedback, I've tweaked it a bit but I still think I can push the profile further outward so it reads better past the mass that is his facial hair, maybe push the teeth further out as well.
@ZacD - the rollout underneath the Project button is the cage push modifier. That will push it out globally on all objects. under the preset manager (lower right) there's a check box for combining maps - this will automatically make a single composite image from the output files.
Aye maybe tone down the normal a tad more, for spec don't be afraid to experiment also with texture over lays and color! :D you could push the highlights in your spec also and diffuse. Good start though keep pushing it!
Has to be Valve, and followed by Blizzard(cinematics ;D ) Yea other studios push the art so far, but im after somewhere to push myself animation wise ;D (of course, Im not even good enough for a junior job there but, what the heck..)
Definately improved, but still could be pushed further. BTW, I'm assuming since you went to SCAD that you have Acting for Animators by Ed Hooks but there's alot in there that would help you really push this guy's feel. Good stuff though.
