The vertex blending can be kind of expensive, it requires verts wherever you plan to blend, you can save the tris/verts and use a simple B/W map as a mask. There are a few options and you don't ways need verts. But it depends on what app/engine you decide to do the final scene in as to what methods will probably work best.… -

Added a tactical rail and sights. Also edited the stock and some other areas. I need to fix a few errors in the sight, some edges are rather tight, and the grooves in the pump are also too tight. Seriously, why do people who have nothing to do with modding even bother talking? Thats like playing Dark Souls 2 for a couple of hours, not even getting to the Chariot fighting and it's buggy performance related I-frames and claiming you know anything, you don't, end of story.
