Thanks Jan. It means a lot to hear kind words from a guy creating such great stuff. :) Unfortunately I had to put it on a shelf since I joined university game project and it is taking all of my free time. I'm going to come back to it as soon as I can.
Apologies for not keeping this thread more up to date, but thought I'd post a progress shot of the scene as it is at the moment, be aware that the lights in the ceiling sections blink and pulse, which cant be seen in the screenshots, I'll look to putting a video up of it sometime soon. As always all feedback is welcome and…
yes. I just have to figure out how to render this thing properly in 3d... don't know if all the features of the 2d concept will work well in 3d... I thought about a thicker jacket, but I still have to do some tests. will post updates soon :poly121:
@Vailias Agreed. I still need to tweak a lot to the Ferrari. I usually rotate projects when I get bored to keep myself interested and I need to revisit the Ferrari soon. @Yanneyanen Thanks! Both have 1024 maps on them for presentation and the spec and normal are 512.
Baked normal map / low poly AO and fixed up some stuff. Will soon begin with the PBR texturing. Gotta say I'm feeling pretty nervous about the whole thing with albedo / roughness / metalness maps. Not really sure how I should tackle it. Ah well!
Hello guys, It's been a long time and I haven't had the time to post any updates on this character. Anyway, I have found some time to texture her up. Here's are the turnarounds and beauty shot. Hope you guys like it. Will post wireframes and grey renders soon
thanks for the input. I haven't thrown a ton of detail into the model bacause I'm hoping to throw it into WH40K:Dawn of War. I'm thinking most of the details will be left to textures as it is an RTS and you rarely zoom in on the units, unless it's for screenshots etc.. I'll throw some texture shots up soon.
Arf, I will be as soon as I get back to Scotland. I don't have CoD down here with me at the moment, on my laptop. However if we get a good server, I will bring in my flatmates and we'll have a team game - MoP's house take on all comers!
I usually like doing it on airplane flights and places where a laptop/wacom combo isn't realistic. The lack of pressure stinks. But there are things like http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jonatherton/jaja-worlds-first-pressure-sensitive-stylus-for-ip in the pipes. So maybe soon that will be more realistic.
Its pushing five thousand tris now. As soon as i connect the head to the body and fix those damn feet it will probably end up on about 5500, and i have a few k to play around with accessories. (I have decided not to go over 7k. By much anyways...)
