If you do a totally set-up scene like that and handpainted, then try painting the round ground plates at the spots where the pillars and the other plates intersect. Like dirt, AO and grass, right now they have no connection at all and thats the main problem
Handpainted birch! :) End result on that is really great. Highlights on the notches look a liiiiitle strange to me in the scene there, unless that over-accented look is what you're after. Nice work either way though - love to see the rest of the scene flushed out.
I would sculpt as much as possible on the bits that deserve it, like the rocks and trees, and then handpaint to get it as close to the ref as possible..... Looking at the ref, id also work out a strategy to get the grass looking gorgeous and 3d, as thats a large element of the scene.
Hi InkRose, i would try to check better the topology head/face, take a look at these images :) i am sure that for a character like that you will have less polys but i don't have so much experience with lowpoly handpainted character!
Hello. I tried make model simpliest as possible it is 7661 triangles for everithing and three 1024x1024 diffuse textures. Nothing more. Only handpaint. For modelling I have used Blender, for texturing Photoshop 2017 and also Blender. My results: model
Excellent!!!! I very much like the hand painted style you have here! A road I would like to go down my self someday. No crits, lets see more! any tuts you could point to for a newb handpainter?
It's not quite the same, but Becca Hallstedt has a mini tutorial about painting wood that might be helpful. It's about painting in terms of 2D concept art, but if you're trying to do a handpainted texture the process is similar. Check it out: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/nAndr
Okay, the only thing anybody still remembers is to create a new layer, handpaint it and have that button selected. I have tried it myself and could not get it to work :) But maybe someone else can. I also have not used ddo legacy in ages.
Sorry, I was wondering if this question could be answered. How do I copy a hand painted mask (for the material group) and apply it to another material group. Or, can I take a handpainted mask, and quickly (ie at the press of a button) make it a material ID?
I've been really enamored lately by the few images Campo Santo released for In the Valley of the Gods, so I wanted to take a crack at the atmosphere and lighting for my own. Still working on some more handpainted textures but here's what I got so far. Cheers!
