don't give up so easy, the works coming along good, just need bit more of a push as other have intimated. took me about 4 years to get a job in games after starting in about 1998, finally got a junior artist job in about 2002 I think it was, so maybe nearer 5 years
Thanks, Keen! Yeah those beams felt kinda weird but I think they might be more of a support thing. Here's the ref I found it on: http://hitch.south.cx/Jerusalem%20-%20Street%20Scene%202%20-%201925.JPG Anyways glad you like it and thank for your feedback and the link. Btw your paintings are really nice too! Cheers
If you have multiple meshes intersecting, then yes i'd suggest importing separate pieces and baking them individually and combining the maps afterwards. You'll usually get a much cleaner bake that way, but it does take a little longer. Or you can explode the mesh. Personally, I make several pieces and center them out to…
I think Mark Laiman (K'Rakarth) is still somewhere near Oxford but I'm spending waay too much time studying at the mo and not nearly enough counting polys. Don't think I've even seen a polycounter since ECTS.. 2002? If I'm around at the end of August I'd love to meet up tho will probably be working oop north.
That page is from 2002! I spent years modding that game. Not many people actually made new tiles for the game. Too much work for too little payoff. The fun was all in the new scripted quests. If you are just getting started with NWN, head down to NWVault.Ign.com. There's trillions of new player created quests, and a lot of…
Dekard, don't give up on that - it takes bloody minded persistence. I first applied in 1997 but only got my first job in 2002 and I hated it he he. SHEPEIRO - I would love to have my own company, but would maybe go down the route of selling 3d models or outsourcing if I ever did that.
Hi guys! Here are some of my new models. The first model was inspired by Natalie Portman and her great movie Black Swan. It has 16 000 polys. Second one is a model of Daniel Craig and his role in Cowboy and Alien movie. And the last one is just a horse Hope you will like it. If you got any comments or critique don't…
Hello everyone, I'm starting a new project to bring in Unreal. I'm new in the 3D world and still don't know how low I can go with my triangles. I try different style for the same house to see what it give at the end. This one is the result I prefert, but is it too low or too high for a game. I have 6 000 tris in it. C&C…
I haven't been to E3 since 2002, so I'm looking for a pass to the exhibits. Since I haven't been doing any industry work since then, I don't have credentials to qualify for the free industry pass. If anyone has or knows of someone who has a pass they would be willing to part with, I would be most appreciative. (and no, Im…
Try Kaiser; http://number-none.com/product/Mipmapping,%20Part%202/index.html (and gamma correction?) You might find that your problem is coming from the filtering and turning up/on ansio would help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anisotropic_filtering Mips are essential for performance! But actually before that can be said…
