Yep, they have a seperate UV set just for the lightmap. Textures use set 1, lightmap uses set 2. -

You need to take a reflection probe of the location of the sample then bake a lightmap to the mesh and proceed to subtract the lightmap. -

It looks like your lightmap UVs are overlapped. Make sure no islands are overlapped on your second UV channel (lightmap channel) -

@Toku is that dynamic GI and lighting or baked lightmaps? if the latter, this is some awesome quality! I'm having crazy issues with lightmaps artefacts at the moment. -

That looks like lightmap mipmapping. Or something similar. Check that you have enough padding between the UV islands for the lightmap. -

Bad lightmap UVs with likely overlapping UV chunks. Or no space between UV chunks and very low lightmap resolution. -

Modo is a derivative of Lightwave, while the question is legitimate the answer would be to go with Modo over Lightwave. There's many reason for this considering customer support and popularity.
