Good to know. thank you. I think I may have left the normal map without an actual normal map to show it was still causing an issue before applying the normal map. Now lets hope substance painter can bake maps from the model without issues next ^_^
First thing that jumped out at me was that you spent an awful lot of polys in the guts and chunks along the spine, but left the protruding gun barrels 8-sided... Let the normals work for you along the spine and in the torso part. Spend those polys on the more obvious profile shapes and curvature instead.
I wish max woudl let you customise more: In Silo I double click an edge and it selects the loop and CTRL-ALT-Left selects the ring. I also have keyboard shortcuts. Now, a GREAT plugin for max would be a tweak mode - I miss it so much at work.
Hi Fabian, Its version 5.3.4. win7 64 when I hold down middle mouse button move left/right it more or less scrolls fast one way. Hard to explain,, if I let go off middlemouse button then I have more controle.
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] he has a team of ninja cyborg lions who stealthily alter our world to his bidding. [/ QUOTE ] That's the sort of god I can get behind! [/ QUOTE ] "And on the 8th day, God said, Let there be robotic ninja lions, and it was good." They left that part out
I used the Quadric Edge Decimation and it worked pretty well. It let's you choose how many faces you want left. EDIT: and you could try exporting a medium res version if it gets too heavy. don't think it is necessary with an uber dense mesh really.
Im using firefox. If right click on one of the thumbnails on the front page and open in a new tab, then go to the new tab and click on the thumbnails on the left hand side, that tumbnail will open in the first tab (the front page tab). Pretty weird, thought I should let you know.
Hi guys! thanks to your help and advice, I feel like this is actually starting to progress nicely! Just some polishing left and some poses to adjust (fingers etc). Of course if you spot anything else that needs improving, please let me know! https://syncsketch.com/sketch/150635#184043
