You can say anything you want as criticism, but your criticisms can be criticized as well. I think some of you think that it has to either be 100% realistic or 100% fantasy. You don't think that 60-75% realism is a valid goal?
You don't really have much choice - it's a kernel based filter whichever way you look at it and since it's parallelised already you have limited options in terms of making major speed improvements . The only way it really gets faster is to do less work. If you chain 8 of these with kernel size 16 in a row it will be a lot…
Hi, I just finished my portfolio, so any critique/feedback would be welcome! :) http://lk3d.carbonmade.com/ I would like to say a very big thanks to the whole Polycount community, because I learned the 50-60 % of my knowledge from here. So thank you PC!
So you've just spent $2 million on cinematics, about 60-80% of which a player won't get to see through his first playthrough. That was never a valid option and I can't see how people could have expected something like this...
If you dont have photonshop cant you just open the png in gimp and save out as jpg? Colour jpgs only start to loose under around 60 percent quality, 80 should give you near perfect reproduction for a web presentation.
Like farmville? You don't even HAVE to pay to play it. I'm sure there's data somewhere, and i'm pretty confident the vast, vast majority of players spend way less than the 60 bucks you dropped on assassins creed throughout their farmville career.
yeah the raw maths for the iPhone 3gs point towards it being able to do upwards of 112,000 triangles onscreen (at 60 fps) - but in reality, it starts to slow down quite badly at over 5,000 or 6,000 triangles, when using a 3d engine like Unity.
Yup! It's amazing. Every day I use it I am more pleased. Pairing it with a brand new, small, wireless $60 Intuos Pen tablet makes it the perfect mobile workstation. ...and my pup gets plenty of attention :) She just likes to be cute.
Loved the demo. I'm not seeing a good enough deal to pick it up though. For me, it has to be a pretty exceptional game for me to shell out $60, and I don't feel this game is one of those ;) Usually SOMEONE offers a 'buy this and get $$$ giftcard' deal.
Why not trying it for yourself? :) Polycount on Max depends on RAM...for example my system can handle 60-100 million polygons (smoothly)...and I have 8 gigs + 64bit. 32bit + 4 gigs ram = approx 30 Million polys (second system)
