Looks like I won't be able to make it in time, but I did have a good bit fun increasing my pipeline speed. But it's my fault for not noticing the contest until two weeks before the deadline haha! I'm going to continue working and posting my progress here (unless things get deleted or moved). I could have probably submitted…
humm... shows promise but I'm not sure about a few things. Crits: Design and planning seem to be your enemies, but with practice you'll be able to work those into the beginning stages and avoid a lot of rework. - It seems like a lot of your detail is just tossed on to fill empty spaces and doesnt' really provide function.…
You have some really good layering going with your model all ready. Nice parallax and good silhouettes. What I do when I do environments like this I plan what should use a tiling texture, what should be decal (like damaged plaster) and what should be completely unique (something like your damaged beams). Like I said, the…
Hello. I would like to ask you about your advice. Right now I am learning texturing in Substance Painter. I am watching various tutorials and in most of them I hear phrases like "Greatest thing in Substance Painter is that you can work on each channel at once". And the more I think about it the more it seems uncomfortable…
I recently got back from a holiday in Japan. Having to catch the train everywhere I quickly realised how awesome a lot of the stations looked especially when compared to Australia. I managed to take a bunch of reference pictures and the plan is to now make a metro 2033/last light inspired environment but have it based in a…
Looks nice, especially with the screen lit. I'd like to see more unique damage to it though. Its a clunky thing worn on the arm every single day, so it's inevitably getting bashed upon all kind of things, maybe even spill some sauce or Nuka Cola on it while eating. And if it's been outside the vault on a Wastelander's arm…
Thanks, yeah i'm still tweaking the metal and trying to see what works best. Thanks for the feedback! Thanks for the feedback! As you both suggested i toned down the rust on the metal quite a lot, it was indeed an overkill. :) As for the damage in the spec, that's something i always struggle with for some reason. I think…
Bek: I do plan on trying noisemaker once I get the poly count a little higher and I refine some of the main damage and cracks I plan to add. i do have the stone brushes from Eat3D and I do an to to use them when I start doing the finer details when i'm back home and have access to my computer. teggs: I see what you mean…
I would not sculpt cracks, scratches, rust and other small details on metal surfaces, but would paint them on the diffuse and specular maps instead without any normal bump effect. Otherwise your armor might look like a leather, stone or some soft material (depends on specular). You can sculpt a couple of big cracks\damages…
I am not very good with custom hardware jobs but couldn't you have repaired yours if only the cord was damaged or asked a handy friend? Just wondering if you threw It out just because of that or if you still have it or did repair it? I had both lower end products of Wacom/bamboo and it is small but I got used to it and the…
