How do you organize your UVs by elements? I saw that image with colored elements and UVs organized by that, and all tight together. If I pack using UVLayout for example, my UVs get all mixed, but good use of space. You achieve booth. How ? By Hand (I hope not?) ???
So, adding some hard surface sci-fi elements to this guy. These are quick 3d sketches. I don't think 2 is working. Maybe elements of 1 and 3. I will also add some more detail to his face/head to blend with the suit bust. Any opinions?
Thank you very much for the kind words! You can add elements to your scene by using the Edit>Project Configuration menu. just add your new element to your original FBX in your 3d program and reimport it through this menu, there shouldn't be anything else to do.
Don't break your UVs into separate islands. The left and right sides of those elements don't match up, which causes tiling seams. Instead use one planar projection for the whole length of the object. Tweak the UVs to ease the distortion, but keep it one solid UV element.
"Prevents the Rectangle selection tool from selecting elements that are occluded behind other elements in Hidden Line Removal, Constant, Shaded, Textured, and Textured Decal viewing modes. This option is ignored if Override Object Properties is off in the Display type menu of a viewport." The preferences should save…
Good start I think for a sculpt. I would encourage you to not be fraid of separating elements like gums or horns to keep clarity between elements and have nice clear separation. Do you happen to be using am particular reference for this? Almost seems like a raptor head.
The Sword was inspired by a Bowie knife idea, which i then made larger so it would be used as a short sword instead of a knife along with making the weapon as a weapon with elemental properties, hence why i gave the main blade an orange colour to show the fire element being used.
Working on a replica of Oskar Stalbergs brick block :) Today i added a simple sound effect based on the element height. In the video below the dissapearing elements dont dissolve. I already fixed this with some lines of code. https://twitter.com/3d_eric/status/1097955599806013443?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
Hey, looks cool but could be fleshed more imo. Could increase readability by having wall elements different color than floor + some trims. Maybe break up large areas a bit, e.g. with some individual bricks. Also I would pay attention to contrast, so individual elements don't visually break apart. Would keep an eye on…
Thanks Lilith! :) Working on adding additional elements, blocking out a more interesting sail / shield design, changing the scale of different elements to make the flow of the boat more dynamic and call more attention to Ole' Naps. Need to rework the tail pipe composition to something a little more interesting... Work in…
