Made some progress, moving onto sculpting now unless I get distracted by some crazy idea again. It's a shaman drum on his back not a shield :P -

Thanks for the comments chaps. Much appreciated. The mantle merges into the skull at it's base and sits over the 'brain mass' as a sort of natural armoured shield. I'll watch that area for sure. -

Another quickie, will do lowpoly + mats, based on this concept , flaps that open for reload can also form a small shield that will avoid bullets that come in direction to the hand :P : -

Looking cool so far. Maybe make the yellow bits be more transparent like glass or plastic? The idea would be similar to the light shield on a curing light that dentists use. -

@notman: Oh I HATED that jump SO much. How could they fix it? Make the shield flatish instead of curvy. Rest of the game was awesome, just that one bit, gah! -
