Those are 100% the regular shape tool with the style set to fill, the bottom two images obviously use symmetry though. For some of the images on page 1 I used pull shapes, most of them I did not. Re: white noise all over renders
Some raytrace style renderers will do this when the ray trace calculation returns NaN. Usually you can fix it by adjusting the sampling. -

tried those... still no luck. :/ Now I have "NaN" error in persp camera translate and point of focus attributes. -
