I fixed it! There was a problem with the weight paints (sorry for wasting your time! This is the second model I've ever rigged, and the first to this complexity, so I'm terribly sorry!) Thank you o2, you mentioning "double rotation" actually ended up helping -

Sorry, I meant to say that last image (grey clay) was what the instructor made, not me. Brian was asking for a reference image and that there was the closest thing. Sorry to get your hopes up :/ , but I'll get there eventually and your paint-over was really cool. -

sorry didn't read post above :D I mean: you desaturate any wooden plank texture and use some levels, then you bring that into ZBrush and use by standard brush with drag and drop setting? (sorry for my english ) -

I think you're missing the point. If your friend was a shitty person, e.g., a drug addict, killer etc., then no, I wouldn't really be sorry at all actually. Not that I would know that through a simple forum thread. Sorry if that's offensive. -
