I do this basically on a daily basis. So much of it comes to the setup of the pipeline IMO. Here are some random tips I can think off the top of my head. - Make generic templates for armor pieces. The more time you spend on these the more time you will save later. - Make sample materials so that all your armor has…
The importance of studying from real people in poses cannot be overstated. While anatomy books will do a fine job of teaching you where all the little bits go, you won't gain an understanding of how muscles interact with each other and behave under stress unless you look at a live model or pictures and video of people in…
Thanks mate, you speak a lot of sense there! I guess it is natural for me to be rusty in regards to interacting with others after working solo for so long. It's horrible when you think you've done something wrong and then the feeling just snowballs and you feel yourself getting hotter and hotter, urgh! Yeah I have a few…
Some more feedback, if you want :D while the colors are nice the main problem of your loading screen is that there is nothing interesting happening. they just sort of look at each other. i made some superquick paintovers that might help you : I moved WD more to the middle, so that he does not hug the edge of the image.…
@Gannon Thank you! Color passes will come soon. @AavaChan Thanks! I'm glad you think so. @Mehran Khan Thanks you. @Bering I go back and forth depending on the prop. If it is something that is a standalone prop like the chair or picture frames or a tiling texture I usually just go sculpt it and mess with variations straight…
haha! I was hoping someone else would suggest that. Strad: What class they are totally and completely depends on what you are doing with them and when. InterpActors look to be a replacement for the old Movers of UT99-2004 era, which were essentially level geometry only. I'm not 100% sure HOW a boat would fare being made up…
Ouch. dude seriously sounds like you need to leave the house and go out and be social. I have worked with people who dedicate themselves to their work and almost every interaction I have had with them has been super awkward and generally makes people feel uncomfortable. if you are 18 your should have a healthy focus on…
If something is unclear then surely you should ask them for more details on what to do? What are your responsibilities, exactly? When you say "they asked me to do something like that", do you mean make only the models or do the whole 3D widget? If it's the latter then that would involve web development and if you've never…
Update. Ran into trouble almost instantly. First time using Zbrush tool with subtools and didn't know how to grab AO and normal maps from it. Tried to take it into 3DS Max and do a Render to Texture but the AO looked rubbish. I got xnormal now though and that does a nice job. There must be a more efficient way of doing…
Got a source for "alpha safe"? I can't find any reference to it being used in a 3D realtime context, nor a definition beyond some technique used on 2D brushes. Dithering the alpha test (stipple, or screen door) is indeed a great workaround. It's not a forward rendering thing in particular, and stippling is indeed the best…
